Heading to Tasmania for a couple of months in February. I currently own a satellite dish that spends most of its time under the bed as I simply can't be bothered setting it up. Have noticed a reasonably priced automatic system (if you call $3K reasonable) on the internet and am wondering how good normal TV reception is in Tasmania.
Can anyone help with me with the answer to this question.
Merry Christmas and Safe Travelling.

TV in Tassie is the same as on the big island, good around larger towns, not so good in the countryside. We used our sat TV at Gowrie Park and Ross, to name a couple of spots. If you want to watch TV I found setting up the dish no more hassle than the terrestrial antenna.
You will enjoy Tassie.

BTW a good program for locating all the TV towers and sat TV dish settings is Nomads Almanac

Agree with what has been said above, normally if you have phone reception you will get tv, but due to the terrain in Tassie there are a lot of places where you don't have phone reception.

As you would know the signal is based on Queensland time, and you will have day light savings in Feb/March, therefore there will be an hours difference from the tv guide.

By the auto one for Christmas, they are brilliant.

Our home base is in Qld so we normally have the Northern zone VAST.
We were in Tassie during daylight saving so we had our service switched to southern zone VAST. The programs on the TV and the guide then coincided with actual Tassie time.
We had VAST switched back to northern zone (Qld) on return home.
